Rise of the Runelords
Sasha is a tall, fair haired female with pointed ears and a beautiful silhouette. She’s not as tall as her mother’s people (the wood elves of Ravenshadow forest) but not as short as her father’s people, (the scholars, sorcerers, and wizards of the great library at Aberthen’s cross. They met during an allied campaign against the Orc tribes of the South. Her mother, Sarai, a hardened captain of the “Silver Feathers” (an archer regiment and lead hunters for the campaign) saw something in her father. She had always described him as a bit weak in physicality but strong in mind and wit, and having a hunger for knowledge and power that she saw lay beneath his timid surface as well as a strong sorcerer in his own right. By the end of their time together, it had been decided that it would be in their both best interest to part ways, each had their own pursuits and dreams and neither were willing to yield them for the others sake. Sarai did not know she was with child until the end of the campaign. The council at Ravenshadow decided to allow her to keep the babe due to her status rank and what she had achieved during her campaign but Sasha never really fit in. Sasha loved the forest that she grew up in, the festivals the elves held, the rituals and rights of passages, and the beauty of her homeland. However, she was not received well by her peers. She was not as fast the elves her age and not as agile. She had a great skill with a bow (due to her training with her mother) but that was not enough to keep the sneers and looks of her peers away. Her mother loved her very much and always told her she was special and that she had her strength but that she knew somewhere in her she had her father’s power as well. Sasha was devastated when her mother did not return from a patrol one morning. They had received reports of Orc raiders in the area. Naturally, as the most decorated captain, she was chosen to lead the hunting party, but it was a trap. Two more tribes had been waiting in the woods for the ambush, her mother had released all of her arrows and fought to allow her patrol to escape, but, eventually, they were too many, She had fallen defending her people and her home and was given a great burial of honor. Sasha knew that without her mother she would not have a place here. She would never be given a high position no matter how skilled she was because she was a second class citizen and a bastard. With traveling cloak in hand and one of her mother’s hunting bows she has set out and wandered ever since. Where she is going, she does not know. Perhaps to find where she belongs; perhaps to find her father who she felt abandoned her. Either way, she has decided to familiarize herself with her father’s people, that way if she ever does find him she will know how to act, what to say, and maybe have a better idea of what kind of man he is, and she has decided to start with the town of Sandpoint.
